I had the opportunity to photograph Dee and El Guero. Photographing these two was a blast, not only because they understand my sense of humor, but because their chemistry is amazing in front of the camera. Dee is Guero’s mom. Most people wouldn’t get particularly excited about having a picture taken with their mom but not Guero. The last time they had their portraits taken together was when he was 3 year old. This shoot was an opportunity for them to share an experience long over-due. They chose to have their portraits taken at the LA Arts District, and as born and raised Angelenos, its mix of urban style, vibrant colors, and a community full of life was a great backdrop for their personalities. This mother and son duo are excellent people and their relationship is one to take notes on in regards to how a mother and son should care for each other. It was an honor and great fun photographing them, and I hope you enjoy the pictures and much as I enjoyed taking them.
